My Neighbors

Neighbors are those persons who live adjacent to us. Man is a social being. He cannot live alone in the society. So, he has to live with other neighbors in a particular place. I live in a city. I have many neighbors. All of them are very co-operative and helpful. They are also well-behaved. My next-door neighbor is Mr. Rahman. He leads a very simple life. He does not nourish high ambition because he knows that high ambition drives a man mad. He cannot enjoy a moment's peace. He cannot enjoy a sound sleep. He runs after earthly things which keep him always busy. So, my neighbor has no high ambition. He is free from all cares and anxieties. He is content with what he has. He does not want more. He is not competitive at all. Therefore, he enjoys peace and happiness in life.

প্রতিবেশী হল সেইসব ব্যক্তি যারা আমাদের পাশে থাকে। মানুষ একটি সামাজিক জীব। সমাজে সে একা থাকতে পারে না। সুতরাং, তাকে একটি নির্দিষ্ট জায়গায় অন্যান্য প্রতিবেশীদের সাথে থাকতে হবে। আমি একটা শহরে থাকি। আমার অনেক প্রতিবেশী আছে। তাদের সবাই খুব সহযোগিতামূলক এবং সহায়ক। তারাও ভালো আচরণ করে। আমার পাশের প্রতিবেশী রহমান সাহেব। তিনি খুব সাধারণ জীবনযাপন করেন। তিনি উচ্চ উচ্চাকাঙ্ক্ষা পোষণ করেন না কারণ তিনি জানেন যে উচ্চ উচ্চাকাঙ্ক্ষা একজন মানুষকে পাগল করে তোলে। সে এক মুহূর্ত শান্তি উপভোগ করতে পারে না। সে ভালো ঘুম উপভোগ করতে পারে না। তিনি পার্থিব জিনিসের পিছনে দৌড়ান যা তাকে সর্বদা ব্যস্ত রাখে। তাই, আমার প্রতিবেশীর কোনো উচ্চাকাঙ্ক্ষা নেই। তিনি সমস্ত চিন্তা ও উদ্বেগ থেকে মুক্ত। তার যা আছে তাতেই সে সন্তুষ্ট। এর বেশি তিনি চান না। তিনি মোটেও প্রতিযোগী নন। তাই সে জীবনে শান্তি ও সুখ ভোগ করে।
