My Grandmother
My Grandmother name is Mrs Nurjahan Begum. She comes of a
respectable Muslim family. Now she is sixty. She can move easily. She is a
gentle lady. She is also very kind to the poor. She takes great care of all the
members of the family. My grandmother loves me very much. In my childhood she
used to tell me fine stories and I would sleep beside her. She has brought me
up. For this reason, whenever I become sick, she becomes very anxious. But when
I come around, her face beams with joy. She takes care of my education. During
my childhood my grandmother used to teach me the letters of Bangla, English and
Arabic. My grandmother is really a nice woman.

আমার দাদীর নাম মিসেস নূরজাহান বেগম। সে সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারের সন্তান। এখন তার বয়স ষাট। সে সহজেই নড়াচড়া করতে পারে। তিনি একজন ভদ্র মহিলা। তিনি গরীবদের প্রতিও খুব দয়ালু। তিনি পরিবারের সকল সদস্যের খুব যত্ন নেন। আমার দাদী আমাকে খুব ভালোবাসে। ছোটবেলায় সে আমাকে সুন্দর গল্প শোনাতো আর আমি তার পাশে ঘুমাতাম। সে আমাকে বড় করেছে। এই কারণে, আমি যখনই অসুস্থ হই, তিনি খুব উদ্বিগ্ন হয়ে পড়েন। কিন্তু যখন আমি আশেপাশে আসি, তখন তার মুখ আনন্দে ভেসে ওঠে। সে আমার লেখাপড়ার যত্ন নেয়। ছোটবেলায় আমার দাদি আমাকে বাংলা, ইংরেজি ও আরবি হরফ পড়াতেন। আমার দাদি সত্যিই একজন সুন্দর মহিলা।
